Manufactured in 1945. Standard “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and “M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY” marked on the right side of the frame. Ordnance wheel behind the right grip panel. “FJA” inspector stamp on the left side of the frame in addition to a “P” firing proof. Left side of the slide has typical Remington Rand manufacture mark in addition to a “P” firing proof in front of the rear sight. “HS” (High Standard) made 5″ barrel (correct barrel contractor for Remington Rand guns). Standard sights. Original parkerized finish. Keyes Fibre checkered brown grips. Blued steel magazine marked “S” on the lip (Scovil). Includes “44” dated Boyt leather holster. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% of its parkerized finish. Light temper line on the slide. The finish around the serial number has been lightly removed to make the serial number more visible. Grips are excellent. Bore is clean with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light finish wear. Holster has supple leather with some surface scratches and handling marks.
