Colt factory research confirms a manufacture date of 1973 and shipped to John Jovino Company of New York, NY, the oldest known gun store in the United States. Barrel is marked “DIAMONDBACK/.38 SPECIAL CTG.” on the left side with company address on the right. Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame and crane. 2-1/2″ barrel with vent rib. Ramped blade front sight and adjustable u-notch rear. Fine scroll engraving over a polished metal surface with nearly full coverage! “BG 07” marked on the backstrap and under the grips. Trigger and hammer have been polished. Factory checkered wood grips with silver pony medallions. Grips are numbered “127” on the inside. Includes Colt factory letter. CONDITION: Metal is excellent overall with 95% finish remaining. Grips have wear to the checkering. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Some remnants of powder burns on the cylinder face. Tight hammer. Cylinder has some side-side movement. Sharp timing and lockup.
